Solitary.
It is so incredibly easy for me to feel alone. I compare my current solitary to past social experiences with friends and it gets me down. Usually, when I find myself in this emotional state, I spend most of the day watching sad movies. This, however, does not improve my situation–it simply empathizes with me. I am trying to teach myself to always remember truth in the midst of the lies that the devil feeds me. The devil may try to tell me that I am alone, but God promises to never leave me. God's spirit dwells in me and I will always hold on to that as true.
Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's spirit dwells in you? – 1 Corinthians 3:16

I wrote a poem.
| //Photo by Gloria Berry// |
By Lynn Tucker
I am from the willow tree, whose life was cut short
I am from metal slides and monkey bars and mulch-covered
hands
I am from the code word Cheeto–which had nothing to do with
acting like
pirates
pirates
I am from grilled cheeses and homemade peach ice cream
From pink liquid medicine that made me nauseous
I am from Jaci Velasquez music and dancing around the big
green chair
I am from “Kill The Rat Again” as my siblings ran all over
the house
with croquet sticks
with croquet sticks
I am from the whistling kettle and the brewing coffee pot
From the aroma of chocolate chip cookies spilling out of the
kitchen
I am from the Millers and Odoms; from Arizona to Tennessee
I am from little knowledge of Mamaw and too much knowledge
of Papaw
I am from Treehouse and praise team and “How Great Is Our
God”
I am from two loving parents and two fun-loving siblings
I am from the Tucker tribe; the youngest of the five

WHY--?
WHY do people believe what the world says?
WHY do people dislike other people for no logical reason?
WHY don't girls cover their bodies properly?
WHY is it considered okay to call someone a mean name if you're "just kidding"?
WHY do people obsess over celebrities?
WHY don't people have deeper conversations?
WHY do people dwell in the past?
WHY do people judge someone before they've even met them?
WHY don't we do anything to change all this?
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

pretty pictures + an entirely unrelated sentence
Murder is a sin because the bible says "You shall not murder." (Deuteronomy 5:17) so doesn't this mean that worry is a sin since the bible says "Do not be anxious about anything" (Phillipians 4:6)?
ps. my model in the photos above is my dear friend emily.

absent & apologetic
It turns out that i'm no good at keeping up with things for very long. I haven't kept up with my 52 Week Photo Project whatsoever––it's much harder than i though it would be so i'm not even going to try to continue it. so, here i am, saying "i'm sorry" and hoping you'll forgive me. my life hasn't been extremely interesting lately, so theres not much else i can talk about.
the two photos above are of my sister; we went out in the snow/ice and i took some senior pics of her.
anyways, i hope you all are enjoying this somewhat–lovely month of march!

model status.
meet my cousin, Lila. i'm almost convinced she is going to be a model when she gets older; i mean look at that face. plus, her mom is a photographer, so whenever i point a camera at her she automatically poses for me--it's adorable.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
y'know, most people would say that flowery wallpaper and four-poster beds are outdated or unstylish, but I personally love them. my grandpa's house has some of the most unfashionable interior according to society today, but i honestly wouldn't mind living there. I like to consider the decor antique; it's pretty in my eyes. & for all I know, when I buy my own house, I just might slap some floral wallpaper on the walls and call it my home.

daily reminders.
• Because I exist, I have value. [there is a reason you're here]
• My body as it is got me here today. [and look how far you've come]
• I was made in the image of God, therefore I am beautiful. [don't let the media be your standard of beauty]

gymnastics throwback.
I found a bunch of cds & dvds in my garage the other day, so i decided to go through them and it turns out they were full of a bunch of photos of me when i did gymnastics. not gonna lie, i was pretty adorable. also, check out that perfect split in my floor routine & my hollowed out stomach on the vault! obviously i was a beast.
i miss gymnastics a whole lot. but then i realize that if i started doing gymnastics again, i would miss dancing even more. so i'll continue doing what i do & maybe try some flips every once in a while along the way.

that 'on fire' feeling.
You know that feeling you get when you're so close to God you just want to shout his name to the ends of the earth? that 'on fire' feeling. i love that feeling. & every time i hear this song i'm reminded of that feeling. i'm reminded that i need to have that feeling every single day. God wants us to shout his name to the ends of the earth. so why don't we?
much love,

full moons & mermaids
you know that moment when you find a really great show on netflix and you watch all 3 seasons in about 3 weeks? yeah, that happened to me recently. i just might be slightly obsessed with h2o: just add water and Mako Mermaids. i'm such a kid.
anyways, yesterday was a full moon so i went swimming and may or may not have grown a fish tail... you'll never know.
also, i finally learned how to photograph the moon! bump up the aperture and slow down the shutter; it takes a lot of experimenting.

braids & that funny thing called life
braids: the quick & easy way to get nice looking hair.
sometimes i wish i could just french braid my life, if you know what i mean. sometimes i want to take the easy way out instead of trudging forward even if it's a long way ahead. but then i realize that the journey is part of the fun, its part of your story, and its part of what makes the finish line so exciting. so run your life's race, & don't take shortcuts !

human.
i am human. you are human. we are all human. // i make mistakes. you make mistakes. we all make mistakes.
If you have a problem--guilt, depression, addiction, or anything else--tell someone. don't be afraid or embarrassed. we are all human. we all have problems. and no problem is worse than another. we are all equal. so don't judge anyone and don't be afraid of being judged. if you hold on to your problem, it doesn't end well. so tell someone and i promise things will get better.
––
i've been hearing a lot of suicide stories lately, so i felt that God wanted me to share this. just because you feel alone or out of place in this world, does not mean you don't have purpose. God has a plan for your life, you simply have to trust him.
much love,
lynn

the 6th of july
I took ballet class the morning of july 6th and when i got home, i was exhausted. so i wrapped myself in a blanket and watched tv for a few hours.
then my dad called and told me and my sister to go outside because we had been watching tv "all day". so lucy got her uke and we jammed in the backyard.
then, after dinner, we discovered the city was having a fireworks show by the carnival. it was pretty lame, but i still enjoyed it since i literally saw about 5 fireworks on the 4th.
happy 4th/6th of july !
