I left my heart in Haiti.

I love these kids with all my heart.  Two weeks ago I was able to visit them for the third time in my life, and I know it will definitely not be my last time.  I seem to fall more in love with the people of Haiti each and every time I visit.  This time, I was able to bring my dear friend, Cara, with me.  It was incredible being able to relive my first experience going to Haiti through her.  She connected with these kids instantly; it was such a beautiful thing to see.  One of my highlights from the trip was, while putting on VBS for the kids, Cara and I got to perform our dance (see below.)

Although this video doesn't show it, after the dance, the kids started chanting "Again! Again!".  It was an overwhelming experience that I will definitely never forget.  Cara and I feel so blessed.

Another highlight was going to the beach.  That was just plain fun.

random snaps.

I started taking a photography class at the beginning of May, so i've been taking lots of photos recently.  here are some random snaps from these past two weeks; featuring Katie, the moon, Abby, a duck, a squirrel, and Emily.

strangers with pretty hair.

Last weekend, I was the "official photographer" of a national speech & debate tournament.  now, you must understand; I much prefer taking photos of events that inspire me.  so, since speech & debate is definitely not the most inspiring thing in my opinion, I had to really look for inspiration.  like in the photo above, I looked out the window and saw a stranger with really pretty hair standing in the parking lot––how can I not take a photo of that?
here are a  few more photos that I really enjoyed taking:

have a good weekend. xo.

morning light.

Sometimes, I wake up in the morning and see something so picturesque that i force my sister out of bed and make her model for me.  i'm a sucker for morning light that pours through the window; it's oh-so majestic.

absent & apologetic

It turns out that i'm no good at keeping up with things for very long.  I haven't kept up with my 52 Week Photo Project whatsoever––it's much harder than i though it would be so i'm not even going to try to continue it. so, here i am, saying "i'm sorry" and hoping you'll forgive me.  my life hasn't been extremely interesting lately, so theres not much else i can talk about.
the two photos above are of my sister; we went out in the snow/ice and i took some senior pics of her.

anyways, i hope you all are enjoying this somewhat–lovely month of march!
