Reminiscing.

2012 has been wonderful, so many good things happened, including when I first got my instagram! Here are some of my favorite instagrams of the year.

new toy.

Santa brought me a new lens this Christmas and I am completely in love. It's a 50mm by Canon. The camera in the picture is actually my sister's, mine is getting a repair job.

p.s. We got some snow today, which is a rare thing where I live!

Nashville's Nutcracker.

Pixlr Express.

First off, merry christmas! Too early? Oh well.
I've been using this website called Pixlr to edit my photos because I don't have Photoshop. I know, i'm lame. But this really is a great website and it's free. I was really excited because they recently came out with an iPhone app! I've been looking for a good photo editing app for quite some time, so this sealed the deal for me. Because it is new they still have to perfect some things, but i definitely recommend it! Just wanted to stop by and say that. Hope your week goes well!

Goodbye, Thanksgiving. Hello, Christmas!

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! I had family over, so things have been a little crazy. but in a good way. 
Also, christmas is just around the corner! Get excited. Have you decorated yet? xo. 

Nutella Hot Chocolate.

I found this recipe for nutella hot chocolate. I'm in love. This is seriously the best hot chocolate i've ever put in my mouth. I wanted to share with you my beautiful discovery:

1. Heat milk in microwave or on stove top until steaming.  2. Add two tablespoons of nutella.  3. Stir until nutella has dissolved.  4. Add marshmallows if you like. Enjoy!

It's literally that simple. And perfect for this cold weather. :)

No-Sew Fabric Pumpkin Tutorial.

 I made this super easy fabric pumpkin the other day! There is no sewing involved whatsoever. Here's how I did it:

Supplies Needed: Orange fabric (about 20"x20"), brown fabric (about 5"x5"), roll of toilet paper, some stuffing.

These pictures make it pretty self-explanitory, but i'll still give you the basic instructions. 
1. Lay orange fabric upside-down and place toilet paper roll in the middle of it. Add some stuffing around the toilet paper.
2. Taking a little bit at a time, tuck the fabric into the center of the toilet paper roll. Sometimes this gets a little tricky, but keep trying! You'll soon get it just right.
3. Lay brown fabric upside-down and put a little stuffing in the center.
4. Wrap brown fabric around the stuffing.
5. Tuck brown fabric with stuffing into the center of toilet paper roll. 
6. Now you have a cute little fabric pumpkin!

Puppy Sitting.

Recently my sister puppy sat for some friends of ours and I was able to help her out a little bit. They have the cutest puppy! My dog is too big for me to hold, so it was fun playing with this little guy. :)

Autumn has arrived. Sweaters, scarves, boots and Nutcracker rehearsals. :) I don't know about you, but I love it!

Bleach + Dye.

Recently, I decided to buy some Rit Dye and do a little experiment. It turned out really well! In case you didn't know, i'm a dancer, so thats why I have leotard. I really like brightly colored leos, so I decided to turn mine from seafoam green to sunshine orange! Here's how I did it:

Since my leo wasn't already white, I bleached it. Just fill an old sink or bucket with about four parts water and one part bleach. Let it sit for about 20-30 minutes, checking on it every once in a while. It will probably look more yellow than white after its done, but that's okay. Make sure you wash it after bleaching and before dying.
Next comes the fun part: dye. I really enjoyed watching my leo transform from yellow-ish white to bright orange. Just follow the instructions on you're dye package and you'll be good to go. 

I hope this inspired you to go find some old clothes and give them a makeover. Have fun dying! :) 

Non Dairy Ice Cream

I ran across this recipe a while ago, and I really wanted to try it because it sounded so easy. Well, I just made some vanilla and I actually really like it! I'm eating it as I type this. :) This is a great recipe, you should definitely try it!

Old Cameras.

I was digging through my mom's closet, and found some of her old cameras! I can't wait to use them! Hopefully film isn't too expensive now a days. The first is a Minolta and the second is a Polaroid, i'm not sure what kind exactly. They're super cool. :)

Max Schneider.

This guy is incredible. I'm in love with his voice. Like, it's amazing. You should listen to this. Right now.

Ombre Obsessed.

I love ombre hair. I really want to get mine done like this, but I don't think my mom will let me. :( Maybe I can talk her into it...

If I got mine done, it would probably be more subtle, because I don't want to dye my roots. More like these:

But I love all of them! Even the bright, dramatic colors!

Spray Paint Adventures.

I have discovered how convenient spray paint is.  And now I really like it. 

You may have seen this on pinterest, but all you do is write or draw something on a jar with hot glue and spray paint it. So easy!

I didn't like my ipod case, so I spray painted it. :)

I was going to spray paint a medicine bottle and use it to keep my hair pins in, but it started raining. I might post about it when i'm done, though. I hope I inspired you to go spray paint one of your old knick-knacks and give it a makeover! ;)

Instagram Obsessed.

First of all, if you don't know what instagram is, click here. I've had my instagram for a while now, and I don't love it any less than when I first started. It's by far my favorite social network.

Headband!

I spent all morning + afternoon trying to make this headband. First, I couldn't find fabric, then I measured my fabric too short, and when I finally finished, it looked terrible. So I started over. And it worked! The moral of this story is:

I was going to make a tutorial on this, but it was just too complicated. Here is an easy tutorial that you could try out. It's a little different from mine, but it still looks good. Hope your week is amazing! :)

Accomplishment.

A couple days ago, I sewed my first article of clothing! I feel so accomplished. I got the tutorial from here. It's so easy! Try it. I challenge you. :)
