honeysuckles & maxi dresses

// dress: ross, cardigan: thrifted, headband: claire's, shoes: academy //

the honeysuckles are out!  i absolutely love honeysuckle season.  i could just eat/drink them all day long.
also, i just discovered that i really like maxi dresses because (1) they're comfy, (2) they're modest, and (3) did i mention they're comfy?  like seriously i slept in this dress last night.  my dad keeps calling me amish.  i don't know, i guess that's what he thinks of when he sees a long skirt.

hope your days are starting to look more like summer!  i know mine are.

J+L Wedding

Photo by Daisy Lu Photography ⤴

I was in Mississippi this weekend for Josh, my oldest cousin's, wedding, so i just wanted to share some pictures.  the little flower girl in the photo above is my cousin, she is so stinkin' cute.  reminds me of when i was a flower girl, such good times.  :')

we're awkward ⤴
Sadly, we didn't get any pictures with the newly wed except a group picture.  but that's typical, considering the bride and groom are so busy.
also, i learned that most of my family have trouble focusing a camera.  and by "most of my family", i mean my mom.  [see below]

it really isn't that hard to push a button half-way down and aim.  just sayin'.

• Congrats Josh & Lacy! •

summer bucket list: no. 7 completed

7. make something from pinterest

my first to cross off the list!  it was definitely an easy one, but still.  i made chocolate chip cookie dough truffles, and they are pretty amazing.  you can find the recipe here.

indoors / outdoors

occasionally it will be a beautiful day outside but for some strange reason you just want to stay indoors.  you don't understand why, but you just want to put on a comfy skirt and take picture in your dinning room.  & then, as you look back on your photos, you realize that you weren't smiling in any of them.
there must be something about the outdoors that makes you happy;  maybe the fresh air, the singing birds, the green grass.  but when you stay inside you aren't surrounded by God's creation.  i guess God did create your house in a sense, but it's not living.  it doesn't respire.

we need to go outside, lose ourselves, be filled with awe at God's creation.  & then we can look back at our photos, and see if we smiled.

harry potter for the win

whenever i'm bored or don't know what to do: lego harry potter.
i'm usually not a big fan of video games, but this game is the bomb.
i'm also usually not a big fan of staying in the same room for several hours not doing anything productive, but this game is an exception.
i'm also usually not a big fan of harry potter, just kidding that'd be completely insane.

plant progress

A few weeks ago, i germinated some kidney beans for a biology experiment and last week i decided to plant one.  i honestly didn't think it would grow, considering i'm pretty awful with plants, but it is doing really well so far!  i hope to continue taking pictures of it and posting it's progress on here, that way i will stay motivated to water it everyday.

on a totally unrelated note: yesterday was my last day of school, so you know what that means?  summer!  i'm pretty excited right now.
happy friday!  xo.

a bike ride to the yellow flowers

There is a big field just down the road from my house and every spring it's covered with yellow flowers.  it is truly beautiful and i've been wanting to take pictures of it for quite some time now.  so, finally, i rode my bike down the road this afternoon and snapped some photos.  take a look:
Sometimes i get so used to my surroundings, that i forget how beautiful this state is.
